RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL ? This Independence Day holiday (September 7th), a free event titled CineM?sica will take place, commending Brazilian instrumental music as a fundamental aspect of cinematic film. The sixth edition of its kind, CineM?sica will be held in Conservat?ria, a small town in the west of Rio state from September 6th ? 9th.
The only festival of its kind dedicated to Brazilian film music, the event promises audiences a variety of entertainment shows including musical and performing arts demonstrations.
CineM?sica?s communications coordinator Lucas Salgado, reveals, ?The festival is not just about movies, it?s about the musical presentation as well. We have visual shows for the children and a gastronomic show too. This event will appeal not just to people from this region but for people from elsewhere too.?
Not only will the festival provide a powerful insight in to the Brazilian film music industry, it will also bring together producers, directors and artists from the world of Cinema, a sight which no doubt will greatly appeal to film lovers.
Naturally with so much on display, visitors are likely to work up an appetite and thankfully, CineM?sica have taken this in to consideration, having organized a variety of culinary delights as part of the Sabor (Flavor) CineM?sica.
Besides the dazzling entertainment, CineM?sica will also be incorporating an educational message via the Formacine Programe which, as well as putting on theatrical shows for the children, will additionally be encouraging young people to get involved in performing arts.
Thursday will kick start the festival with an appearance by noted Brazilian violinist Ricardo Herz. Having appeared in symphony orchestras and performed at acclaimed international universities, Herz now runs youth organizations as well as appearing on stages worldwide.
Friday promises an equally impressive show courtesy of Keyboard specialist Wagner Tiso who will be performing live. Salgado adds, ?For me, the celebration of Wagner Tiso will be really special. Tiso is such an important musician in Brazil and in some ways responsible for a lot of film music.?
Wagner will also be inviting friend and fellow film musician M?rcio Malard, whose superb cello performances have cemented him as one of Brazil?s most sought after musicians.
The Banda Sinf?nica Campesina Friburgense will provide Saturday?s entertainment. The band?s current Maestro is the celebrated composer Marcus Almeida who will be responsible for conducting seventy musicians.
Finally, Sunday?s show will complete the festival with a show stopping performance from the New Orleans Jazz Band. The band will perform a variety of tracks from slow blues to a lively quickstep.
In anticipation of the event that will not only promote Cinema Music in Brazil but also the town of Conservat?ria, Salgado happily states ?Conservat?ria is known as the city of music so for us it?s important to celebrate the city, its music and Brazilian Cinema.?
